A team from Kent Reliance has raised £1000 for Demelza Hospice Care for Children and Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity
On Sunday 8 September 2013 five members of staff at Kent Reliance took part in the Run to the Beat half marathon in aid of two charities for sick youngsters; Demelza Hospice Care for Children and Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. Participation in the event is just one element of Kent Reliance’s ongoing staff volunteering and fundraising initiatives to support local charity partners.
Rebecca Glanville, Corporate Account Executive at Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity, said:
"On behalf of everyone at the charity, we’d like to thank the team for taking part in the Run to the Beat half marathon. It is great to see Kent Reliance employees go the extra mile to support the charity with their own personal challenges. The money the team has raised will be used to help build a new respiratory unit, with space for a parent or carer to sleep by their child's bedside whilst they undergo treatment.”
Natalie Tegg, Head of Partnerships at Demelza Hospice Care for Children, said:
"Well done and congratulations to the team from Kent Reliance that completed the Run to the Beat half marathon this Sunday in aid of Demelza. We are extremely grateful for all their support and fantastic fundraising efforts."
Kent Reliance and the charities would especially like to thank the runners who took part, Jason Anderson, Johannah Pixton, Shelby Collin, Will Davies and Zoe Peartree.
